As I start poking around Christmas craft fairs and local shops I remember why I love this time of year. I don’t often get time to wander around and just appreciate all the cool, locally crafted stuff there is to ogle, buy and share. We want to celebrate and appreciate all of the wonderful people who are cultivating and crafting so that we may all enjoy. We’d like to share a few of our favourite local things, especially ones that are suited to gift giving this season. We thought we’d start out with some local food iniatives – wonderful gifts that keep giving!
A local, food box
Here are a couple of options that might be really great for someone in your family who would appreciate convenient delivery of local food right to their doorstep or a reliable source of fresh, locally grown food packed up and ready to go. Often boxes include handy recipes that share ideas for some of the more unusual varieties that may show up in a food box. Help encourage a healthy, abundant lifestyle while supporting local farms. yay!

Fresh from the Peninsula; $30.00/box with a selection of 7 to 9 different seasonal organic fruits and vegetables. The Best of the local harvest from 3 to 5 local organic farms.

Good Food Box Program
$6, $12 or $18 Fruit and Veggie Box, $15 All Fruit Box or $18 Organic Fruit and Veggie Box/month. Pick up once a month. Delivery is available for an additional $3/every two boxes. Non-profit alternative distribution for fresh produce. Food Security & Social Justice. Hurrah!
